#StaySafeWithJumeirah: Jumeirah Al Qasr’s Talise Spa team share their home remedies to make sure the daily fast does not take a toll on your natural radiance
#WhatMattersMost during Ramadan is families being together creating special moments every day. While enjoying these precious moments, the team at Jumeirah Al Qasr’s award-winning Talise Spa, renowned for its indulgent and relaxing experiences, shares some easy self-care tips to give your skin a little pampering as you adapt to a new routine.
More than ever, skin, which is our body’s largest organ, requires daily attention to ensure that it is not affected by fasting. As the weather is becoming warmer in Dubai and transitioning from heat to air conditioning, without hydration, will dry out the skin, leaving it looking dull and lacklustre.Face masks are great for the skin and have many benefits depending on the ingredients used.
Homemade masks are easy to make and a fantastic way to ensure you get the best ingredients onto your skin. The below homemade masks will not only exfoliate your skin but help unclog pores, brighten the face and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is important to exfoliate the skin before applying a mask as this helps to remove dead skin cells, increase absorption of ingredients and smooth the skin’s surface.
Ingredients:
Method:
1. Mix the ingredients into a paste and apply onto a cleansed, dry face
2. Add cucumber slices over the eyes to help reduce puffiness and leave the mask on your face for 15 minutes
3. Gently remove the mask using warm water
NOTE: This mask can be used twice a week to help with clearing pigmentation, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and leave the skin feeling smooth and clear.
Ingredients:
Method:
1. Mix the ingredients into a paste and apply onto a cleansed, dry face
2. Leave on your skin for 7-10 minutes.
3. Add slices of cucumber over the eyes while you allow the mask to do its work on the skin
4. Remove the mask using warm water and pat the skin dry
NOTE: This mask can be applied two or three times a week to help exfoliate, hydrate, and increase the amount of oxygen rich blood in the skin.
In addition to applying face masks, drinking Ginger Tea after Iftar has an abundance of health benefits including that it helps to fight respiratory problems, improve blood circulation and strengthen the immune system. Ginger Tea can be enjoyed hot or cold, depending on your preference, and tastes amazing either way.
Ingredients:
Method:
1. Using 1 litre of water, bring to the boil with ginger and cardamom for 10 minutes
2. Reduce the heat to a simmer for a further 5-10 minutes depending on the strength preferred. The longer the simmer time, the stronger the tea.
3. Strain the ginger and cardamom and pour the tea into a cup.
4. Add the squeezed lemon juice or half slice of lemon and add some honey to taste.
