Framed by the dramatic Tramuntana mountains, Port de Sóller lies on Mallorca’s northwest coastline, 30km from the island’s capital, Palma.

When to go

With hot summers and mild winters, Mallorca is a year-round destination. If you’re chasing the sun, visit Port de Sóller between June and September. Even in peak season, it never gets too crowded. The months either side – April, May, October and November – are quieter but still have pleasant temperatures.

Port de Sóller has plenty to experience. Take a trip on its traditional wooden tram, the Orange Express, for a scenic journey to the neighbouring village of Sóller, a little further inland.
