An Evolving Expression of Craft
Continuously evolving rather than remaining unchanged, subtle enhancements elevate comfort, craftsmanship, and longevity while honouring the maritime-inspired design and enduring presence on Dubai’s skyline.
The Sail That Changed the Skyline
Born from a sketch inspired by a passing sail in 1993, Jumeirah Burj Al Arab rose from the Arabian Gulf as a modern tribute to Dubai’s maritime heritage. Its sweeping silhouette echoes the courage of pearl divers and the spirit of a city shaped by trade, ambition and imagination. For over 25 years, it has stood not only as a global icon of architectural ingenuity and luxury, but as a beacon of possibility, hosting world-renowned moments, supporting conservation, and illuminating the skyline each night as the enduring symbol that announced Dubai to the world.
A New Chapter of a Distinctive Identity
Jumeirah Burj Al Arab is being refined while maintaining its distinctive identity and craftsmanship. Its interiors and detailing are evolving alongside subtle upgrades that enhance comfort and ensure longevity.
Refining a Landmark of Distinction
French architect Tristan Auer's approach to the restoration of Jumeirah Burj Al Arab is to revere its sail-shaped silhouette and unmistakable identity, choosing renewal over reinvention. Shaped by decades refining some of the world’s most storied addresses, Auer's focus is on enhancing rather than erasing the hotel’s DNA. Preserving the majority of its bold décor, intricate craftsmanship and opulent materials, from gold leaf and Statuario marble to Swarovski crystal, his philosophy of “haute decoration” is on display through bespoke fabrics, exclusive finishes and discreet technological upgrades. The result is a considered evolution that refines the flow, elevates the detail, and introduces contemporary comfort, ensuring the hotel's spirit endures for the next 25 years and beyond.
